Nascida no dia 23/06/1995 em Bristol, Inglaterra, a cantora/compositora Lauren Aquilina começou sua carreira musical aos 13 anos quando começou a fazer uploads de gravações caseiras no seu canal do YouTube, onde ela desenvolveu uma formidável fan base de admiradores. Suas influências são amplas e variadas, passando pela house music dos seus anos mais jovens até Coldplay e Stereophonics no som do carro da família, o que eventualmente a inspirou a escrever suas próprias canções em uma idade jovem.
