Sem ainda completar dezesseis anos, Janis Martin chegou à gravadora RCA logo depois de Elvis, e trazida pelo mesmo Steve Sholes, que apostara sua carreira de produtor executivo na contratação do Rei do Rock & Roll. Sholes, ao receber uma fita demo com “Will You, Willyum”, logo contactou os compositores em Richmond, Virginia, de onde viera aquela pérola, para convidar a cantora para gravá-la pela RCA Victor.
