Iggy Pop, pseudônimo de James Newell Osterberg (Muskegon, Michigan, EUA - 21 de abril de 1947) é um músico de rock.
Quando era pequeno, Iggy Pop era um garoto tímido e introvertido. Em meados dos anos 60, ele tocou bateria num grupo de garotos da sua escola, The Iguanas. O nome artístico, aliás, surgiu devido o nome da primeira música da banda colegial. Em 1969, surgia o The Stooges, com Ron Asheton na guitarra, Scott Asheton na bateria e Dave Alexander no baixo (que é demitido após o segundo álbum e abre vaga para James Williamson
