"Battery Kinzie"(Pecknold)
From "Helplessness Blues"(2011)
Capo 5th fret, DOUBLE Dropped D Tuning (DADGbd)
Recurring riff: D--0-0-0-0
A-x-x-x-x- (Lowest three strings)
D-5-4-2-4-
Robin plays a 12-string and constanty walks up and down
between the chords on the 6th string. This means that
many of the D chords are actually D/f# with the ring
finger fretting the low E-string 4th fret. this is true
of almost every D following a G chord, especially the
arpeggios on the chorus. keep your pointer and middle fingers
on the 2nd and 3rd string D-shape and let the high e (d)
ring out, while using thumb and other fingers for the
walking bass.
D G D G D
I woke up one morning, all my fingers rotten
G D A D
I woke up a dying man without a chance
G D G D
I came to your window, threw a stone and waited
G D
At the door, a stranger stood
G D G D
The strangers voice said nothing good
G D G D
I turned to walk the frozen ground

Alone... all the way home (RIFF X2)
[CHORUS]
D G D G D C G
Wide-eyed walker Do not wander, Do not wander
E A D
Through the dawn.... (RIFF X2)
D G D G D
Both my eyes are fading, no light in the evening
D G D A D
Planted like a seed in sand, and drowned in rain
D G D G D
Watch you for an hour,He kept you beneath him
D G D
He kept you on lock and key
D G D G D
He paid the wage you send to me
D G D G D
And waste the day so idly
G D
Alone... all the way home
[CHORUS]

Wide-eyed walker Do not wander, Do not wander
E A D
Through the dawn.... (X2)
