The Cowboy Junkies é uma banda canadense de rock alternativo, com ênfase folk e country, formada em 1985 em Toronto, Canada, pelos irmãos Michael (guitarra), Peter (bateria) e Margo Timmins (vocal), além de Alan Anton (baixo).
O primeiro álbum da banda, Whites Off Earth, com uma forte inspiração blues, foi gravado na garagem dos Timmins e produzido pelo produtor canadense Peter Moore. Seu lançamendo se deu em 1986, o mesmo ano em que a banda saiu em turnê pelo sul dos Estados Unidos.
