First known as a girl band, Le Butcherettes was created by vocalist/guitarist Teri Gender Bender who later recruited drummer Auryn Jolene to complete the duo. Quick acclaim was achieved in the Mexican underground scene for their live act which included both of them dressed in a 1950s fashion referring to women being slaves in home chores, using brooms, feather dusters and bloody aprons. Teri Gender Bender would also use artificial blood, flour, eggs, meat and a real pig head all over the stage, interacting with the public most of the time.
