Donovan (Donovan Philips Leitch), es un cantautor, poeta y guitarrista escocés nacido el 10 de mayo de 1946, en Maryhill, Glasgow. Emergió a mediados de los '60 como cantante folk, lo que le valió ser llamado el Bob Dylan británico, pero pronto se desató de esa etiqueta convirtiéndose en uno de los mayores representantes de la psicodelia de mediados y finales de los sesenta, con un estilo muy personal que fusionaba Jazz, Folk, Rock, y Música étnica.
