Biografía:
Apesar de ter nascido em South Carolina, EUA (20 de junho de 1978) o cantor e compositor Dave Barnes passou a maior parte de sua infância no Mississippi, onde desde cedo criou uma ligação com o hip-hop, mas também desde cedo foi apresentado ao soul clássico, blues e R&B por seus pais. Mais tarde matriculou-se na Middle Tennessee State University e começou a escrever canções para outros artistas. Barnes também fez alguns shows solo em sua universidade
