DIMMING OF THE DAY- Bonnie Raitt
GD This old house is falling down around my ears CGD I'm drowning in a river of my tears GD When all my will is gone, you hold me sway CGDG I need you at the dimming of the day.
CHORUS: DA You pull me like the moon pulls on the tide DADGC You know just where I keep my better side-----
GD What days have come to keep us far apart? CGD A broken promise or a broken heart GD Now all the morning birds have wheeled away CGDG I need you at the dimming of the day
CHORUS 2: DA Come the night you're only what I want DADGC Come the night you could be my confidant-----
GD I see you on the street and in company CGD Why don't you come and ease your mind with me GD I'm living for the night we steal away CGDG I need you at the dimming of the day CGDG I need you at the dimming of the day
NOTE: This is actually orignially a Richard Thompson song, but the Bonnie Raitt version has changed the key and reordered some of the words. (from Longing in Their Hearts, 1994) (sent by Harlan at [email protected])
