INTRO: A#
#1. A#F Tell me, quick, said Old McFee..what's this all have CmD#A# to do with me?..I've spent all my time at sea, a loner. A#F Is there something else I should know?..something hidden CmD#A# down below, the level of your conversation?
CHORUS: GmCmF Well, he turned away before the answer.. GmCmF though I yelled aloud, he refused to hear. A#D#A# It became too clear..
#2. A#F So, it went as we put out..I was left in constant doubt.. CmD#A# everything I asked about seemed private. A#F The captain strolled the bridge one night..I stopped him CmD# in the evening light..to ask him would it be all right to A# join him.
CHORUS: GmCmF But he stood there like some idol.. GmCmF and he listened like some temple.. A#D#A# and then he turned away.
#3. A#F All along the fateful coast..we moved silent, like a ghost. CmD#A# The timeless sea of tireless host possessed us. A# The wind came building from the cold northwest.. FCmD# and soon the waves began to crest, crashing cross the forward A# deck..all hands lost.
CHORUS: GmCmF I alone, survived the sinking.. GmCmF I alone, possessed the tools, on A#D#A# that ship of fools.
OUTRO: A#D#A#A#D#A# Ship of fools......on that ship of fools.. A#D#A# that ship of fools..
