This is my first tab, so suggestions for improvement are welcome! I recommend playing the first two C chords in each verse as A chords on the third fret (335553). Also, when moving from the verse to the pre-chorus, I recommend the following transition from C to Am:
C C/Am Am E------0----0----0-----| A------1----1----1-----| D------0----0----2-----| G------2----0----2-----| B------3----2----0-----| E------0----0----0-----|
VERSE:
C I saw the light fade from the sky C On the wind I heard a sigh CAmCAm As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers CFC C/Am Am I will say this last goodbye
PRE-CHORUS:
F Night is now falling CGAm So ends this day F The road is now calling CG and I must away
AmF Over hill and under tree DmAm Through lands where never light has shone C By silver streams F That run down G To the sea
AmF Under cloud, beneath the stars DmAm Over snow and winter's morn C I turn at last F To paths G That lead home
CHORUS:
FAm And though where the road then takes me GDm I cannot tell F We came all this way Am But now comes the day G To bid you farewell
VERSE:
C Many places I have been C Many sorrows I have seen CAm But I don't regret CAm Nor will I forget CFC C/Am Am All who took that road with me
PRE-CHORUS:
F Night is now falling CGAm So ends this day F The road is now calling CG and I must away
AmF Over hill and under tree DmAm Through lands where never light has shone C By silver streams F That run down G To the sea
AmF Through these memories I will hold DmAm With your blessing I will go C To turn at last F To paths G That lead home
CHORUS:
FAm And though where the road then takes me GDm I cannot tell F We came all this way Am But now comes the day G To bid you farewell
