Biografía:
Beatsteaks nacieron en el verano del 1995 y un año más tarde ya eran los teloneros en uno de los conciertos que los reformados -y algo seniles- Sex Pistols dieron en Berlín.
En el invierno del 97 la formación -Arnim Teutoburg, a la voz y guitarra; Peter Baumann, guitarra; Bernd Kurtzke guitarra; Torsten Scholz, bajo y Thomas Götz, batería- graban su primer disco para un sello independiente berlinés. Se llama 48/49. Durante el 97, los Beatsteaks empiezan a prodigarse de verdad por los escenarios teutones.
