Basshunter es el nombre artístico del músico y DJ sueco Jonas Altberg, nacido el 22 de diciembre de 1984 en Halmstad, Suecia.
Basshunter clasifica su propia música como eurodance pero también es clasificada por otras personas como hard dance. Altberg cuenta que realiza la música en su ordenador utilizando el programa Fruityloops. En el año 1999 comenzó a hacer su propia música. Su primer y poco conocido álbum "The Bassmachine" lo lanzó en el 2004 en su propia página web.
