Ani DiFranco (nacida Angela Marie Difranco, el 23 de septiembre de 1970) es una cantante progresiva estadounidense.
Nació en Buffalo, Nueva York, hija de padres amantes de la música folk y comenzó su carrera musical a la edad de nueve años, cuando su profesor de guitarra le ayudó a realizar su primer concierto -- sobre versiones de los Beatles -- en un bar de la zona.
Sus gustos iniciales estaban influenciados por Suzanne Vega y Michelle Shocked pero pronto abandonó la música para estudiar ballet
