CEm Well Frankie Lee and Judas Priest DmC They were the best of friends CEm So when Frankie Lee needed money one day DmC Judas quickly pulled out a roll of tens CEm And placed them on a footstool DmC Just above the plotted plain CDm Sayin' Take your pick Frankie Boy EmC My loss will be your gain
CEm Well Frankie Lee he sat right down DmC And put his fingers to his chin CEm But with the cold eyes of Judas on him DmC His head began to spin CEm Could ya please not stare at me like that he said DmC It's just my foolish pride CEm For sometimes a man must be alone DmC And this is no place to hide
CEm Well Judas he just winked and said DmC All right I'll leave you here CEm But you'd better hurry up and choose Dm Which of those bills you want C Before they all disappear CEm I'm gonna start my pickin' right now DmC Just tell me where you'll be
CEm Judas pointed down the road DmC And said eternity CEm Eternity said Frankie Lee DmC With a voice as cold as ice CEm That's right said Judas Eternity DmC Though you might call it 'Paradise '
CEm I don't call it anything DmC Said Frankie Lee with a smile CEm All right said Judas Priest DmC I'll see you after a while
CEm Well Frankie Lee he sat back down DmC Feelin' low and mean CEm When just then a passing stranger DmC Burst upon the scene CEm Saying Are you Frankie Lee the gambler DmC Whose father's deceased C Well if you are Em There's a fellow callin' you down the road DmC And they say his name is Priest
CEm Oh yes he is my friend DmC Said Frankie Lee in fright CEm I do recall him very well DmC In fact he just left my sight CEm Yes that's the one said the stranger DmC As quiet as a mouse CEm Well my message is he's down the road DmC Stranded in a house
CEm Well Frankie Lee he panicked DmC He dropped ev'rything and ran CEm Until he came unto the spot DmC Where Judas Priest did stand CEm What kind of house is this he said DmC Where I have come to roam CEm It's not a house says Judas Priest DmC It's not a house it's a home
CEm Well Frankie Lee he trembled DmC He soon lost all control CEm Over everything which he had made DmC While the mission bells did toll CEm He just stood there staring DmC At that big house as bright as any sun CEm With four and twenty windows DmC And a woman's face in every one
CEm Well up the stairs ran Frankie Lee DmC With a soulful bounding leap CEm And foaming at the mouth DmC He began to make his midnight creep CEm For sixteen nights and days he raved DmC But on the seventeenth he burst CEm Into the arms of Judas Priest DmC Which is where he died of thirst
CEm No one tried to say a thing DmC When they carried him out in jest CEm Except of course the little neighbour boy DmC Who carried him to rest CEm And he just walked along alone DmC With his guilt all well concealed CEm And muttered underneath his breath DmC Nothing is revealed
CEm Well the moral of the story DmC The moral of this song CEm Is simply that one should never be DmC Where one does not belong CEm So when you see your neighbour carryin' somethin' DmC Help him with his load CEm And don't go mistaking Paradise DmC For that home across the road
