Biografía:
Filho de músicos negros que tocavam nas ruas, Hebb compôs sua canção mais famosa depois que seu irmão foi morto esfaqueado em uma briga de rua em 1963. A canção também foi gravada por Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, entre outros, e fez parte da última turnê dos Beatles nos Estados Unidos.
Hebb foi a única presença afro-americana no Grand Ole Opry no começo dos anos 1950, integrando a banda de Roy Acuff em tour pelo Sul. Ele dançava
