B7EGbmDB He was born in the summer, of his twenty seventh year;
EGbmDB Coming home to a place he'd never been before
E He left yesterday behind him,
GbmDB you might say he was born again
EGbmDB You might say he found a key for every door
EGbmDB When he first came to the mountains, his life was far away;
EGbmDB On the road and hanging by a song
EGbmDB But the string's already broken, and he doesn't really care;
EGbmDB It keeps changing fast, and it don't last for long
ABE But the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
ABE I've seen it raining fire in the sky
ABEBA The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullaby
BEGbmA Rocky Mountain high, Colorado
BEGbmAB7 Rocky Mountain high, Colorado
EGbmDB He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below;
EGbmDB he saw everything as far as you can see
E And they say that he got crazy once,
GbmDB and he tried to touch the sun;
EGbmDB And he lost a friend but kept the memory
EGbmDB Now he walks in quiet solitude, the forests and the streams;
EGbmDB seeking grace in every step he takes
EGbmDB His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand;
EGbmDB the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake
ABE And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
ABE I've seen it raining fire in the sky
ABEBA talk to God and listen to the casual reply
BEGbmA Rocky Mountain high, Colorado
BEGbmAB7 Rocky Mountain high, Colorado
E Now his life is full of wonder,
GbmDB but his heart still knows some fear;
EGbmDB of a simple thing he cannot comprehend
E Why they try to tear the mountains down,
GbmDB To bring in a couple more;
EGbmDB more people, more scars upon the land
ABE And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
ABE I've seen it raining fire in the sky
ABEBA I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
BEGbmA Rocky Mountain high, Colorado
BEGbmAB7 Rocky Mountain high, Colorado
ABE And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
ABE I've seen it raining fire in the sky
ABEBA Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
BEGbmA Rocky Mountain high, Colorado
