Como "Death Cab for Cutie", Gibbard editó un primer cassette llamado You Can Play These Songs With Chords.

DbmE I want to live where soul meets body
DbmE And let the sun wrap its arms around me
DbmE And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
BDbm And feel, feel what its like to be new
E Cause in my head there’s a greyhound station
DbmE Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations
DbmE So they may have a chance of finding a place
B where they’re far more suited than here
DbmE I cannot guess what we'll discover
DbmE We turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels
DbmE But I know our filthy hand can wash one another’s
B And not one speck will remain
DbmEB I do believe it’s true
DbmEB That there are roads left in both of our shoes
DbmE If the silence takes you
B Then I hope it takes me too
DbmDbmEDbmDbm Where soul meets body
DbmDbmE Where soul meets body
B Where soul meets body
DbmEB I do believe it’s true
DbmEB That there are roads left in both of our shoes
DbmE If the silence takes you
B Then I hope it takes me too
DbmEB So brown eyes I hold you near
DbmEB Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
DbmEB A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
-Strum lightly-
DbmEB A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
DbmEB A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
DbmEB A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
