David Ryan Adams (5 de noviembre de 1974, Jacksonville, Carolina del Norte) músico de un estilo que ha venido a ser llamado Alt-Country/Rock. A los 16 años abandonó el instituto para trabajar en una zapatería y comenzar a escribir música. Formó una banda llamada Whiskeytown en 1994 la cual se separaría en 1999. Adams publicó su primer disco en solitario en el año 2000, lleva por título Heartbreaker. Es un artista prolífico que ha publicado ocho discos y numerosos Eps entre el 2000 y el 2005.
