Ricky Nelson (1940-1986) fue un niño prodigio del rock´n´roll. Su celebridad comenzó en 1957 gracias a las continuas apariciones que protagonizaba en televisión con su grupo, en el que se encontraba el fenomenal guitarrista James Burton, quien luego lo fuera de Elvis.
Se vio beneficiado comercialmente por la desaparición temporal de Elvis tras su marcha al servicio militar. Durante ese periodo que trancurre entre 1958 y 1960 Nelson tuvo numerosos éxitos: "Hello marie lou", "Teenage idol", "I believe what you say", etc.
