Prince Rogers Nelson (Minneapolis, Minnesota, Estados Unidos - 7 de junio de 1958 / 21 de abril de 2016) fue un cantante, compositor e instrumentista de rock, soul, funk y new wave. Usaba el nombre artístico de Prince, pero también era conocido por otros apodos, entre ellos «The Symbol» y «El artista anteriormente conocido como Prince». Durante los años 80 fue uno de los artistas más importantes e innovadores, siempre cercano a la psicodelia y responsable de canciones inimitables como Purple Rain
