Biografía:
De ascendencia china e irlandesa, nació en Londres y creció en un ambiente liberal hasta que sus padres se divorciaron. A este evento siguió un cambio en su vida, pues su padre se alejó del hogar y en cambio recibió la influencia religiosa y fundamentalista de su padrastro.
Dejada al cuidado de este cruel hombre quien literalmente la odiaba, la siguiente década de su vida fue muy dura, siendo obligada a cambiar incluso hasta de nombre. Con el apoyo sicológico de su padre pudo salir adelante en su adolescencia
