Stephen Coats é a identidade por trás de "The Real Tuesday Weld", nome que faz referência a atriz americana Tuesday Weld. Coats disse ter tido um sonho com Weld e o vocalista do .30, All Bowlly. Tal sonho teria sido a inspiração para a criação da banda. Cantor e compositor o ex-estudante de artes visuais da Royal Academy of Art iniciou sua carreira na música em 1997 e lançou seis álbuns até o momento. The Real Tuesday Weld tem um estilo peculiar, hora Jazz de Cabaré, hora eletrônico e as vezes algo entre os dois.
