Artist: Niall Horan
Song: The Tide
Album: Flicker
Key: E minor
BPM: 135
Tabbed by: Matty Sievers
This is the song he's been opening the tour with and it's another bloody ripper of a song!
I've included a more detaield strumming pattern for the intro and verses progression
below just to guide people who might not like using UG's built in one and also so
there was no confusion over what chords go where.
Essentially you hit the 1, the off beat of the 2 and the 4 and then do that exact same thing.
The jump from playing the off beat of the 2 to the 4 back to the 1 might be jarring for some
but it's pretty clear once you get the feel for the song and let the groove guide you. Just
remember that the Em and the C are only played those first two strums and then the G and D
carry over the bar.
The verses also can be broken up into an A and B. A where Niall starts the line after the
first beat and then B where he sings on the accents and the beat. Read how I've spaced
the lyrics and chords and listen to the song and you'll understand what I mean.
The refrain and bridge are also the same progression as the chorus. So each chord goes for
two bars.
