Moby es un compositor de música electrónica, nacido el 11 de Septiembre de 1965 en Harlem, New York. Luego se mudó a Darien, Conneticut. Su nombre real es Richard Melville Hall y el seudónimo viene de un apodo familiar, que viene de la novela Moby Dick de Herman Melville, su tatara-tatara-tio abuelo.
A Moby se le conoce mejor por singles como "Go", "Porcelain", "South Side" con Gwen Stefani, "We Are All Made of Stars", "Extreme Ways" y "Lift Me Up".
