Michael Gordon Oldfield (Reading, Inglaterra, 15 de mayo de 1953) es un compositor y multi-instrumentista británico.
Su padre, Raymond Oldfield, adquirió una guitarra cuando servía en la Royal Air Force en Egipto durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
