Artist: Midlake Album: Bamnan And Silvercork Song: Some Of Them Were Superstitious
[Intro] BF# (x8) C#mBF#EmG#mF#C#Em
[Verse 1] BF#BF#BF#BF# Some of them were superstitious sitting with their backs facing the orchard. BF#BF#BF#BF# All of them with mittens on, their hands and feet were waiting there for winter. C#mBBF#BF# Thousands on the freeze, well I could never join them there.
[Chorus] EmG#mF#C#Em And then we dare not bother, but couldn't help but holler "Yeah!" C#EmG#mF# There's no use in hiding the joy from the bright blue sun. C#EmBBF# I could wait for winter, better if it never comes.
[Verse 2] BF#BF#BF#BF# Some of them were superstitious watching them parade around the town square. BF#BF#BF#BF# Some of them were praising monocled men simply 'cause they don't know better. C#mBF#BF# Someone to protect them, someone to keep track of them.
[Chorus] EmG#MF# No, I don't believe them, I would rather holler "Yeah!" C#EmG#mF# There's no use in hiding the joy from the bright blue sun. C#Em (capo) D Now you say you're leaving, but leaving will just bring you down.
[Bridge] Capo on first fret:
(four bars on each chord)
DAEmA DAEmA
DBmA Can you operate machines like that? DBmA Miles a day on tough terrain and grass. DBmA I'm not sure if we will meet again. DBmA I guess it depends on which company you're in.
DA (four bars on each chord)
[Outro] DBmA And when you're gone, you're gone. DBmA So soon, so soon, so long. EmAEmA But life, it works for someone. And you're someone. DBmA So soon, so soon, so long. DBmA And when you're gone, you're gone. EmAEmA And life, it works for someone. And you're someone. EmA You're someone. EmA You're someone. La la la-ah lah.
DBmED (four bars on each chord)
Note: I didn't realize that when you submit it under "chords" it automatically has those little chord pop ups. It's nice.
Also, it may be needless to say, but the chords during the second part of the song are named with the capo on first fret. You know how it goes.
