Biografía:
Un músico autodidacta, es miembro de la banda Guided By Voices y pertenece a la que se le denomina la alineacion clásica de la banda. Utilizando una grabadora de cassete de cuatro pistas contribuyó al original sonido lo-fi de la banda, la cual frecuentemente grababa en el estudio de su casa. Sprout contribuía como co-autor, multi-instrumentalista e ingeniero de sonido. Fue un miembro desde 1987 a 1997, para retornar en el 2010 en la reunión de la alineación clásica de Guided By Voices.
