Biografía:
Nacida con el nombre de Althea Rae Duhinio Janairo, Carrere, con ascendencia filipina, china y española, participó a los 17 años en la edición de 1985 del programa-concurso "Star Search", aunque fue eliminada en la primera ronda. A raíz del programa, fue reconocida por los padres de un productor cinematográfico mientras hacía compras en una tienda de verduras de Waikiki y fue contratada para participar en una película de serie B, "Zombie Nightmare".
