Formed during 1985, in Leeds, England. Founding members were Phil Morris, Paul James Berry and Alan Davis. The name came from combining the “rose” for the beauty and the “avalanche” for the power, as a way of describing their music. The Rose of Avalanche quickly found recognition for their song writing ability.
Before they had played a gig they signed to local independent label LiL, and released two singles: "LA Rain" and "Goddess". Thanks to support from legendary Radio1 DJ John Peel
¡Cuatro años de duro trabajo!Este mes de mayo cumplimos cuatro años al aire. Seguimos trabajando en la difusión de este maravilloso instrumento, ¡gracias por participar en nuestra historia!
She’s still playin’ in my head Velveteen she’s not so dead Hangin’ off my bedroom wall She played those games for far too long She loved those rock stars one by one She gave them all she had to give She saw them fall onto the floor They left her there to weep some more
Velveteen, her heart’s so strong Velveteen they love so long She’s sure to live and die that way But not until she’s played her games A long-lost hot night in the sky Around the world by night she’ll fly A rock star’s death she does not mind A lonely life is what you need tonight
Ooh ooh ooh ooh &c.
Velveteen her love has gone Her long-lost loves, they too have gone The end of life is drawing near She won’t just sit back and disappear
She’s livin’ out her life that’s flown She’s givin’ it all she’s got that’s gold She’s telling all how she survived A rock star’s death is what she needs to lie To die To cry To fly
Ooh ooh ooh ooh &c.
Velveteen her heart’s so strong Velveteen her love’s so long A rock star’s death she does not mind A lonely life is what you need Cry
