BEHOLD A PALE HORSE THE CHARLIE DANIELS BAND
INTRO: Dm
VERSE: Dm There was a mighty nation
Blessed above all of creation C It was a rare and precious pearl Bb Conceived in faith and liberty C Home of the brave, land of the free Dm Was the envy of the world
VERSE: Dm But this shining city on the hill
Has turned from the creators will C And let evil take control Bb Now the reckless men who lead them C Want to strip away their freedom Dm And to steal their very soul
VERSE: Dm Now it's smoke and mirrors
Switchin' bait
Criticize and confiscate C And let the guilty walk away Bb In this much righteous Godly nation C In the halls of education Dm They forbid a child to pray
VERSE: Dm They say we need to spread the wealth
They pretend to guard the health C Of the feeble and the poor Bb While the hand they hold behind their back C Confuses and conceals the fact Dm That the wolf is at the door
CHORUS: DmBb There's an unseen hand CDm That pulls the string C That makes his little puppets dance Dm To every song he sings BbCDm As the night rolls in on a rising tide CA Look beyond the shadows Dm Behold a pale horse rides
VERSE: Dm They claim to seek a New World Order
Nations without borders C But don't believe the lies Bb Even in this wealthy nation C It can come down to starvation Dm In the twinkling of an eye
VERSE: Dm They tell us there will soon be peace
Our lives will be an endless speech C But they lead us toward the darkness Bb In the distance sabres rattle C And the armies train for battle Dm As the beast prepares his mark
CHORUS: DmBb There's an unseen hand CDm That pulls the string C And makes his little puppets dance Dm To any song he sings BbCDm As the night rolls in on the rising tide CA Look beyond the shadows Dm Behold a pale horse rides
INSTRUMENTAL: DmCBbADm
VERSE: Dm It's time for every righteous man
To step up tall and take a stand C There is so little time Bb For if we fear and hesitate C Soon it will be too late Dm With the last hope of mankind
VERSE: Dm Time hurries on the shadows fall
The hand writing is on the wall C But even now there's still a chance Bb For if the ones called by Gods name C Repent his sin and seek His face Dm He will hear and heal the land
CHORUS: DmBb There's an unseen hand CDm Reaching from above C And a gentle voice that beckons Dm To the shelter of his love BbCDm Come on home my wayward child C 'Cause out on the horizon Dm There's a pale horse running wild BbCDm America my wayward child CA Can't you hear the thundering hoof beats Dm Of a pale horse running wild
