El cantante y compositor Robin Thicke, hijo de la vocalista Gloria Loring y de Alan Thicke, de la serie 'Los Problemas Crecen' (Growing Pains), comenzó escribiendo para Christina Aguilera, Mya, Brandy, Marc Anthony y Jordan Knight. Para el año 2000, Thicke con veintitantos años, cumplió el sueño de ver editado su álbum debut, Cherry Blue Skies, en otoño de 2002. Más tarde este fue retitulado Beautiful World y acondicionado para una promoción masiva en los medios en la primavera siguiente.
