Biografía:
Paul Julian Strohmeyer cantante/compositor galés mas conocido como Green Gartside , formó Scritti Politti en Londres , en el año 1978.
La primera formación del grupo estaba compuesta por Matthew Kay (teclados y manager), Tom Morley (batería), Nial Jinks (bajo) y Green Gartside (cantante y guitarrista).
La banda cambió de formación durante los años 80, pero siempre sirvió de vehículo para su líder.Su primer disco fue "Songs to Remember" (1982), catalogado dentro del post-punk (reggae, ecos punk y afro-beat).
