Polly Scattergood es una cantautora nacida en Essex, England. Se describe a si misma como etérea, oscura e intensa.
Acudió a la Brit School, donde escribió más de 800 canciones y coincide con otros artistas como Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash, Leona Lewis, Katie Melua y Luke Pritchard (The Kooks). Allí es descubierta por el ejecutivo musical Neil Ferris, el cual se convierte en su manager y la presenta a Daniel Miller, de Mute Records.
Su single debut, titulado Glory Hallelujah es publicado en 2005.
