Ok folks, so this is literally my first tab submitted on this Peter Rowan rendition with Tony Rice accompanying doin his thang as usual. The tuning is standard so no problems there...really once you have the feel for the key down and understand a bit of Tony Rice's style it should be a fairly decently easy song to tackle. Anyways to get to the thing of it:
Intro (Nice kind of arabic feel with a II to I)
Ab Major to G Major x 4 then classic rundown = G F Eb D which modulates to C minor
Song:
Cm/Cm7 (Rt. on 5 bar is nice) Gm (Rt. 6 bar= easy switchin!) Well I'm the wild mustang they brought me from spain
Bb (Rt. 5 bar) Cm/Cm7 From the sands of Arabia to the south Texas plains
Cm/Cm7Gm From the far forgotten traps i taught them to ride
BbCm/Cm7 Galloping over the desert so wide
Cm/Cm7Gm I made the bottom of Montana my home
BbCm Through swift dissapearing white pastures ive grown
CmGm And though you hunt me with your haunted desire
BbCm (nice little tony lick *) You can up around me in your field of barbed wire
Chorus:
EbBb Cause im the wild mustang ill always run free
F Im the wild mustang ill always run free
EbBb Im the wild mustang ill always run free
AbG Let the wild mustang always run freeeoeoeoeoeoeoeoeoeoe RUNDOWN--- remember what that was?
Solo: Let it rip Tony!
So that's basically the whole song in a nutshell i mean nothin to it right? (except for they're wiliness at guitar) Basically tony highlights the crap outta chords (chord tones) and loves using a nice tonic and b5 to p4 double grab/ hammer-on (yea he's crazy like that). Always a good lil jammer though if any of you have any questions feel free to email me at:
