verse2: Oh wow, how did I get so messed up? It seems like yesterday I was young and hung out. The minute that I woke up I'd go and do some coke up I was feeling high - what a guy. And now I watch my color tv, Let Johnny Carson make a fool of me. And my friends aint been around in a year or more. They're off somewhere together making posters for the war. And so I sit at home and drink another little drink, and then I have me just a couple "hic" more. And when I wake up in the morning Good God some mornings I'm sore, Cuz the bag I'm in is just a package from the package store.

I'm going to sit at home and drink another little drink, if I drink enough I'll feel Okay. And once more, I'm gonna wake up in the morning =
feeling oh oh so sore, Cuz the bag I'm in is just a package from the package store.
