Murder by Death (Inicialmente conocido como Little Joe Gould) es una banda proveniente de Bloomington, Indiana. El nombre de la banda deriva de la película de 1976 del director Robert Moore llamada de la misma forma. La banda desempeña un amplio estilo musical incluyendo Rock Instrumental y Country Alternativo.
Proponen un estilo musical bastante propio, donde destaca el uso del Violonchelo Eléctrico para crear un sonido gótico y sureño con referencias al Viejo Oeste
