Biografía:
Creció en Long island, Nueva York, como Jeffrey Kagel. Su encuentro con Ramm Dass en 1968 cambió para siempre su vida. Conoció a su gurú Neem Karoli Baba en su primer viaje a la india apenas tenia 23 años. Es uno de los músicos de Kirtan mas reconocidos del mundo. Fundó su propia discográfica, Triloka Records, en 1990. El cantante Sting participó en dos temas de su álbum Pilgrim Heart en 1998.
