Steven Michael "Steve" Burns nació el 9 de octubre de 1973 en Boyertown, Pennsylvania. Es mejor conocido por conducir el programa para niños "Blue´s Clues" . Su primer album, Songs for Dustmites, fue producido por PIAZ Records en el 2002. Fue lanzado en 2003. Subió once canciones a su pagina web y despues, al darse cuenta de que necesitaba ayuda para la bateria y otros arreglos, le pidio consejo a Steven Drozd de The Flaming Lips. Drozd ayudó a Burns con seis canciones.
