This is my first time submitting a song, and probably about the 4th time transcribing a song.
It's a pretty easy song to play and there are a few ways you can go about it.
It's in E minor and the chords used are as follows:
E D C C7 B A G
e|------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------9---------------------------|
D|--9-----7-----3-----------8------4--------------------|
A|--7-----5-----5-or-10-----10-----2-or-9------7-----5--|
E|--------------------8-----8-----------7------5-----3--|
As you can see there are a few ways you can play these chords.
You can even use open chords if you like, but this is how I play the song.
Sometimes switching it up a bit.
These above are the power chord versions so neither major nor minor.
Below I have written them out as open chords, along with their flavours.
You have a few options here, do whatever works best for you.
This is how I play the intro, listen to the song for timing:
Em / / / D / / / C B A G / /
^ Here after the 'A' you can quickly slide the chord up to 'B' to try
and replicate that little thing they do on the piano.
Rest of the song:
Verse 1
G D
Everyday when I'm away
Em D C
I'm thinking of you
G D The D chord on every second line
Everyone can carry on doesn't seem to be played in the
Em D C next verse.
Except for we two
C7 G
And you know that our love
C7 G
And you know that I
C7 G D
And you know that our love won't die
CHORUS.....
Em D Chorus is just like the intro
And it won't even show
C Bm Am G
And no-one will know
Em D
One little wave
C Bm Am G
To say you'll be-have
Em D
It won't even show
C Bm Am G
How far love can go
Verse 2......
G D
Everyday when I'm away
Em C
And there's been a few
G D
Every land I need a hand
Em C
To help me come through
C7 G
And you know that our love
C7 G
And you know that I
C7 G D
And you know that our love won't die
I'm sure you can work out the rest from here.
