Silverchair fue una de las bandas australianas más aclamadas de todos los tiempos y la que quizá ha gozado de más popularidad en las últimas dos décadas en Australia. Han tenido más álbumes en el #1 que cualquier otro artista en la historia musical de dicho país y han vendido más de seis millones de copias en todo el mundo.
Los miembros de la banda contaban con tan sólo 15 años cuando su álbum debut Frogstomp (1995) debutó en el #1 en las listas de popularidad de Australia y Nueva Zelanda
