Verse 1: DG The highway she's a hotter than nine times the hell AD The rides are as scarce as the rain G When your down to your last shuck with nothing to sell AD And too far away from the train
Verse 2: DG Been a good month of Sunday's and a guitar ago AD Had a tall drink of yesterday's wine G Left a long string of friends, some sheets in the wind AD And some satisfied woman behind
Chorus: DG Hey ride me down easy Lord, ride me on down AD Leave word in the dust where i lay G Say i'm easy come, easy go AD Easy to love when i stay
Verse 3: DG I've put snow on the mountain, raised hell on the hill AD I locked horns with the devil himself G Been a rodeo fool,a son of a gun AD And a hobo with stars in his crown
