The Verve Pipe tuvieron una vez un gran éxito con una canción llamada "The Freshmen", que fue extarída del álbum del mismo nombre. "Villains" salió en 1996, pero no obtuvo un éxito tan masivo como "The Freshmen", que fue uno de los mega hits en radio en los años 1995 y 1996 en todo el mundo.
