El grupo de country-pop The Statler Brothers se formó en 1955 en Staunton, EE.UU. Sin ser en realidad hermanos, comenzaron como trío de iglesia que se transformó en un cuarteto vocal llamado Kingsmen. Cuando Johnny Cash les pidió que se fueran de gira con él, se cambiaron el nombre a The Statler Brothers. En 1966 triunfaron con el tema “Flowers on the Wall” y su álbum de debut del mismo año fue también bien recibido. El disco de 1967 “The Statler Brothers Sing the Big Hits” produjo 2 populares singles.
