Biografía:
The Rural Alberta Advantage es un trío de Toronto creado en 2005 por Nils Edenloff, natural de la provincia canadiense que da nombre a la formación. Junto a Paul Banwatt y Amy Cole se graba en 2008 Hometowns, su primer álbum, que debió ser publicado ese año en un nuevo sello canadiense que finalmente no vió la luz.
Sin embargo el disco se empieza a vender en los conciertos de la banda y en una conocida tienda de música digital alcanzando buenas críticas y cifras importantes para un grupo sin contrato discográfico.
