--------------------------------------------------------------------------- VOODOO CANDLE - Jay Farrar --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: James Wyatt Email:[email protected]
Tuning: standard
My buddy Jonathan turned me onto Farrar's album Sebastapol, and this song's always stuck in my head. I hammered out some chords today and found this to be a pretty good acoustic version though I'm sure it's far from perfect. I've seen a few online versions but they're faster and electric, this is more akin to how it's played on Sebastopol.
There are basically three segments: the preamble, the prechorus and the chorus. Listen to the song and "funk it up" a bit as needed.
(preamble/intro) [G] [D] Caught between, between two worlds [Am] [C] Don't wanna be, don't wanna be fenced in
[G] [D] Caught between, between two worlds [Am] [C] Don't wanna be, don't wanna be fenced in
[G] Scattered along the way must be some understanding (the riff) [G] Handwritten skyline room for ideals ascending (the riff)
(For this part, the prechorus, strum a G chord and throw in some muted string riffs and maybe walk up the low E string from F to G) It's alright, it's alright, I know that it's alright It's alright, it's alright, I know that it's alright
(Use the same process as above for the chorus here, but more solid strumming and less muted strings) 'Cause I've got a voodoo candle I've got a voodoo candle I've got a voodoo candle I've got a voodoo candle
(the riff, a few times) [G] Packaged and put out, more or less dreaming (the riff) [G] Later on business, low level screaming (the riff) [G] Pell-mell from the committee of welcoming (the riff) [G] Taste a different pattern, the blind frequency
Then just finish up with the prechorus and chorus again. Finish with the riff. Rock on! Share good music with everyone. This tab is designed for anyone to use for free, but give me some credit eh? -James
