Biografía:
Golden Smog la formaron en 1989 en la región de Miniápolis varios componentes de otras bandas, entre las que se incluyen, Soul Asylum, The Replacements, Wilco, The Jayhawks, Run Westy Run, y The Honeydogs. La flexible banda tocó en algunos espectáculos esporádicos en salas locales y representaron una reacción country-rock frente a la música punk y hardcore que dominaba el panorama musical de aquel tiempo. Editaron los álbumes titulados "On Golden Smog" (1992)
