Tied To A Stone recorded by George Jones written by Max D. Barnes
CF I woke up this morning and prayed to God oh let this be a dream G7C Her side of the bed was cold and laying there beside me was her ring F With a note that she had left for me laying where she used to lay her head CG7C And I felt the world fall in on me for this is what she said
FC Tied to a stone ain't no way to live G7C I can't go on living like this FC I'd rather be lonely and face life alone G7C Than to go on this way day after day tied to a stone
F I always thought I gave her everything that any girl could want G7C The diamonds on her fingers a new car and a big two-story home F Oh but home became a prison and looking back now I can see it all CG7 Oh I'd give the world if I could change the things C That made her climb that wall
FC She said tied to a stone ain't no way to live G7C I can't go on living like this FC I'd rather be lonely and face life alone G7C Than to go on this way day after day tied to a stone
FC I'd rather be lonely and face life alone G7C Than to go on this way day after day tied to a stone
