Kansas es una banda norteamericana fundada en 1970, su estilo destacó en el Rock Progresivo. Sus integrantes originales son: Dave Hope (bajo), Phil Ehart (batería), Robby Steinhardt (violín), Steve Walsh (teclado y voz), Rich Williams (guitarra). Anteriormente formaron la banda White Clover, en su ciudad natal de Topeka, Kansas. Después de la llegada de Kerry Livgren (guitarra y teclado) el nombre fue cambiado por Kansas. En 1983, algunos de los integrantes han ido cambiando.
