Josie and the Pussycats que en español se nombra como Josie y las melódicas es una banda de rock que salió al mundo por primera vez en una comedia juvenil sobre el mundo de la música que muestra a un trío de muchachas que han formado un grupo de rock llamado "Pussycats", sin mucho éxito. Entonces, por razones misteriosas, un ejecutivo de Megarecords les extiende el codiciado contrato sin siquiera haber escuchado una sóla nota tocada por el trío.
